object love…letterpress cards

Three days and counting until my letterpress class with Jordan Ferney of Oh Happy Day!  Yes, like the rest of you, I love letterpress. One day, my business card will be letterpress. But in the meantime, I will be making calling cards for Fiddlesticks & Nonsense. Here's a peek at the art work…

I had several other layouts, but after some input from Doc and friends, I landed on these. Typography is soo hard and challenging. I'm not cut out for the nuances and finesse it requires. I'm really hoping the sketch comes through; keep your fingers crossed! I'll share the results!

Thanks for checking in!

playing for change…play it loud

This amazing site, Playing for Change,  which just launched, will send a chill up your spine and bring happy tears to your eyes. Gather the family, turn up the volume and play the videos. Spend time on the website to learn more about PFC, the musicians and the journey to create the CD and DVD.

The Inspiration

Playing for Change is a multimedia movement created to inspire, connect, and bring peace to the world through music. The idea for this project arose from a common belief that music has the power to break down boundaries and overcome distances between people. No matter whether people come from different geographic, political, economic, spiritual or ideological backgrounds, music has the universal power to transcend and unite us as one human race. And with this truth firmly fixed in our minds, we set out to share it with the world.

Not only is PFC an amazing movement, but the site was designed by Polychrome Los Angeles, the sister office to our Polychrome San Francisco studio.

Blog love…Twig & thistle + Black Eiffel

I wanted to share two blogs that provide me with a wealth of inspiration [and give me blogger insecurities]…Twig & Thistle and Black Eiffel

Twig & Thistle has some really amazing DIY projects along with a list of tools that any crafter should have. I thought I had every type of X-acto blade and rotary cutter, but Twig & Thistle proved me wrong. Who knew there was a perforating and scoring blade? Besides the DIY projects her graphic work is stunning. I'm convinced, now more than ever, I must have letterpress EVERYTHING!

Both Black Eiffel and Twig & Thistle have their fingers on the pulse in the graphic/fashion/creative design world. I love the curation each do for their respective blogs.

So, please pay a visit to each, and you will have many, many new links and other inspiring blogs to explore.

Enjoy,

F&N [a doubting blogger!]
